Biography
Fiber 2001 were an experimental hip-hop, drum n bass, acid jazz, funk and breakbeat band from Boston. The band started as an experimental jazz trio in the basement practice rooms of Berklee College of Music in Boston in the year 1997. Fiber started out playing private parties that were routinely busted by the police. From there, they hit Boston's underground hip hop circuit with Edan who was the frontman of the group, and their reputation began to blow up. They have had two albums, The Infamous Vegan Explosion and Greatest Hits. A lot of their songs are instrumentals though Edan and Bombshot can be heard on a few tracks. The band consisted of Joshua Winer, Nathan Carpenter, Edan Portnoy, Corey Colmey, Ben Wright, Rob Mandell and Bombshot. Fiber 2001 mainly played live in local Boston but have played in Central New York.
