Fastex are a three piece Grunge/Funk/Punk band based in Shrewsbury, they contrast heavy distorted riffs with funk influences. Fastex Formed in May of 2006 and have produced a large amount of original material, varying from high energy punk flavoured bursts to down beat grunge tinted songs.

William (Shan) Shanahan
Shan (born October 23 1988, in Shrewsbury, West Midlands) is the lead singer and guitarist of Fastex. Shan joined Fastex in May 2006 after splitting from his former band Croft. Shan has been playing guitar for 8 years and it is a strong passion of his. Shan thoroughly enjoys playing in Fastex and is very serious about getting the bands music onto a professional level. His musical influences include various Grunge bands such as Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains. His input of hard rocking riffs along with Ali’s funky bass lines and Steve’s strong beats on drums create the energetic sound of Fastex.
Alistair (Al) Hinde
Al became Fastex’s bassist in May 2006 after splitting from his previous band (Angus Pie) hoping to be involved with taking music in new directions. Heavily influenced by a wide range of band including Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pink Floyd, he tends to bring heavily funk tinged bass lines to the Fastex sound.
