“Reinventing the Wheel to Run Myself Over” is a much quicker song than those on the rest of the album. Most of the lyrics (and the title) were written by Patrick Stump. The end of the song features a scream (“to prove myself”) followed by laughter. This was the result of the band’s friendship with Plain White T’s drummer De'Mar Hamilton, who recorded this final line.
