Biography

EZRA REICH

A New York native, EZRA REICH's music is all about songs. While it's been called 'New Wave Cabaret', 'The Beatles meets Prince' (NY Noise) and 'Bryan Ferry Meets the B52's while Roy Orbison and the Ronnettes singalong', at the heart of the matter are strong melodies, hooks and harmonies. At times people have paid attention to the visual imagery and style in the performance and live show. Some of this stems from REICH's love of various visual mediums such as the cinema of David Lynch, the paintings of James Rosenquist and the photography of Helmut Newton. EZRA's first album, Spring 2003's "Freeze the Night" was selected out of thousands of artists to be featured on AOL Music's First Break emerging talent showcase with the song 'Behind the Scenes' being downloaded thousands of times. The song was then chosen in the spring of 2004 as the theme for Tommy Hilfiger's national radio campaign promoting his "H" Line with David Bowie. Much of 2004 was spent working on tracks for his second album "Milkshake Arcade" with co-producer Ron A. Shaffer (Ambulance Ltd., Tricky) at Atlantic West Studios in Brooklyn. EZRA REICH has performed numerous times throughout NYC, at the 2004 South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX. and most recently a tour of the UK at the end of 2005. As of 2006 a new album is in the works!
