Biography
Exploding Head Syndrome is a Norwegian hardcore punk band. Formed in Oslo, Norway in 2010, the band consists of Eirik Ekholdt (vocals), Geir Zahl (guitar), Morten Rørvig (guitar), Bjørnar Berg (bass), and Lars Kirkerud (drums). The band describes their sound as "angry punk" whose lyrics carry an underlying thematic philosophy that "not everything works out for everyone."
The band's name is derived from the parasomnia condition of the same name, whose typical symptoms that causes the sufferer occasionally to experience a tremendously loud noise as originating from within his or her own head. Their first release is the EP Exploding Head Syndrome, recorded in early 2011 and released on 18 November 2011; some of the songs may be heard on their Urørt band page.
