Biography
Spanish soprano Eteri Lamoris-Chkonia came from Georgian family of a great musical background. She studied with her mother, a famous opera singer Lamara Chkonia, and left for Europe in her youth, continued her education in Vienna with Renata Scotto and Ruthilda Boesch, and in Madrid, with Dolores Ripolles who comes from Maria Callas School of Singing.
From the very beginning of her career Eteri Lamoris has sang in opera houses and participated in various festivals such as Verdi's Opera Festival in Italy, the Haydn Festival in Austria, and Menton Festival in France; she also has performed at the Bolshoi Theater.
Eteri Lamoris has received awards at nine international competitions. Seven of them were first pizes. She also earned a special award: the "Public Prize of Vienna" in State Opera together with Jose Cura.
She has performed in the opera productions of Bilbao ("La Traviata", "Carmen", "Orfeo and Euridice", "Rigoletto" with Luis Lima, Marco Armiliato, Denis Graves and others).
After her debut in the role of Musetta in Franco Zeffirelli's La Scala production of "La Boheme", she performed in the principal theatres of Madrid, Naples, Torino (with Luciano Pavarotti, Mirella Freni), Nice, Trieste, and Los Angeles with Roberto Alagna.
