Biography
Elaborate Waves was an experimental, pop and trance band formed in Warren, Michigan in 2004. The band has always been a 4 piece with original members Jeramey Davis & Christina Wyles being the sole members of the band. The band added boyfriend/girlfriend duo Eric Kintos & Melanie Kintos who are also behind the rap/hip hop project EMpower the Masses in late 2004 and the 4 piece began working on their debut album.
The band consisting of keyboardist & programmer Jeramey Davis, Vocalist Melanie Kintos, Guitarist Christina Wyles & drummer Eric Kintos began work on their debut album titled Waves for a release in the summer of 2005. As work progressed on the album, the long sessions of practice and recording were starting to take a toll on both Melanie and her boyfriend Eric as they felt there was no break in between practice and then recording and they decided to leave the band as soon as the album was complete. The album was completed in March 2005 and released in June 2005 to a warm inception from friends and family. As per their decision both Eric & Melanie departed the band in July 2005 to focus on their lives and their solo project.
Shortly after the departure of both their vocalist & drummer the two remaining members recruited Jeramey's girlfriend at the time Chelsea Dotlin to be the guitarist while Christina switch to vocals and friend Ed Meyers to fill in as the drummer. After a prolonged break for the rest of 2005 and most of 2006 due to Jeramey working on his solo aliases in the trance scene along with Chelsea, the band returned to write and record their second album Through Your Eyes which was eyeing a 2007 release. The recording was a lot more peaceful and relaxing compared to the recording of the debut album, the band meshed well together and delivered the final product as expected in 2007. The album was again released in June 2007 to another warm reception from friends and family.
After, the release of the second album all 4 members took a hiatus to work on other projects, Jeramey & Chelsea on their trance aliases and projects, Christina working on her solo alias and Ed spending time with family. The hiatus lasted a year and a half and when it was time to reform Jeramey, Chelsea & Christina were back but Ed decided not to come back even though he had a blast working on the album he wanted to retire from drumming and spend time with family. So the trio continued on and the third and later final album The Rest is Silence was recorded in 2008 for a 2009 release. The album again featured Christina on vocals, Chelsea on guitar and Jeramey on keyboards/piano & programmer. The drums were used by a drum machine and the other instruments were programmed by Jeramey. The album was released in July 2009 to another warm reception from friends and family.
After the third and final album was released, the members called it quits after 5 years together. Jeramey, Chelsea & Christina continued to work on their projects and solo careers while also keeping in touch with everyone. Sadly in August 2009 a month after the release of the 3rd album and the ending of the band… Chelsea ended up passing away on August 31, 2009 at a canadian hospital. All projects associated with her have been discontinued and never brought back. Jeramey continues working on his solo aliases as well as group projects and Christina has retired from the music scene back in 2016. The band has no plans on reuniting due to one member being deceased.
