Biography
Efenwealt Wystle is the pseudonym for singer/songwriter Scott Vaughan. In his Efenwealt persona he performs as a bard/minstrel type fellow at events of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) and has been doing so since 1989. He appears annual at the Pennsic War, and has also made occasional appearances at Gulf Wars, Estrella War, events around the Kingdom of Atlantia, and the occasional fantasy convention or filk circle.
Efenwealt draws inspiration from the likes of Monty Python, Weird Al, Tom Lehrer, Dougie MacLean, Jethro Tull, Fairport Convention, assorted celtic folk groups, and the vast repertoire of medieval and renaissance music. His style ranges from absurd, comedic and bawdy to gentle love songs of the troubadors and folk songs about his experiences in the SCA.
When not performing as Efenwealt, Scott and his wife Kirsten perform Harry Potter-themed wizard rock as The Blibbering Humdingers. He also performs weddings and events with his wife and mother-in-law (harpist Marilyn Wienand) as The Merry Minstrels.
He lives in Cary, NC with wife and family. He loves table-top RPGs, Fantasy Literature, Sci-fi movies, Steampunk stuff, and almost anything dealing with costumes.
