Sounds Like: Terror, Thick As Blood, MADBALL, LIONHEART OFFICIAL, Hatebreed
Formed in the fall of 2008,four dudes who are sick of fake ass scenesters and trendy flavor of the month local bands,started a bare bones hardcore band dedicated to real,straightforward expression through brutal music and honest lyrics. Consiting finally, after a few line up changes,of RAY RAY(guitar),XCARTERX(vox),STEVO SUPREMO(drums)and NIBROC(bass) DOWN TO THIS has proven its self as a solid force in NC hardcore with a strong local following as well as an ever expanding european and japanese fan base. In december of 2009 they released the 6 song "LIFEBLOOD" e.p. leaving the kids clamoring for more. this spring D2T is going back in the studio to bust out some new releases that will be sure to exhibit the growth and strength they have gained over past 2 years. see ya's in da pit!
1) Combining pummeling guitars of Timo, the dynamic vocals of Gyom, unyielding rhythms from bass player Jason and Derek Lee on drums, Down To This (DTT) creates an impassioned and aggressive live show that's in a class of its own. They've been touring extensively throughout the DC, Virginia, Maryland areas since their inception and have quickly amassed a dedicated fan base. In addition to playing dozens of shows and festivals locally, DTT is now drawing more attention outside the area. Earlier this fall, DTT was invited to perform at New York’s MEANY FEST festival and are now making preparations to tour nationally.
Under the Versatile Records moniker, DTT's self-titled debut is a potent hardedged rock album, filled with melodic choruses and emotionally high charged lyrics that explore both the good and bad of humanity.Truly a high-concept album with no fillers, the singles “Our Monologues” and “Rewind” are making the “A” grade at radio and gaining high accolades from industry insiders.
Music-Tech.net has acknowledged DTT for their "exceptional talent & marketability" in their review, which notes: "Down To This rocks with the authority of a Seven Mary Three or a Yellowcard. Their muscular alternative rock seethes with passion, which the band backs up with able performances and sensitive lyrics." They're also a semi-finalist in the DC area's largest Battle of
the Bands for the second year in a row and this year anticipates to place well in the final competition being held in the coming months.
Down To This combines a passion for music with unbridled energy to create a
sound all their own that one must experience to believe.
