Biography
It was the beginning of the year 1987 when two school friends Nick Drivas and Costas Androutsopoulos found out that they both shared the same interest in music. They had known each other for years but not until the met up again at Technical school did they become close friends. At the age of sixteen they joined up to form their own band inspired by bands such as Bauhaus, The Cure and Joy Division. The search for other members began but proved to be a difficult task. After a few line ups and names such as "Common Sense" and "Joker And The Harlequin", the band finally found a steady line up and name.
With Nick Drivas on guitar, Costa Androutsopoulo on bass, Vicky Zachou on vocals and Spyro Syndoulidis on drums, Athens based "Distorted Image" were formed in the summer of 1988. The name was found by Nick when listening to the radio one day he was inspired by two songs and bands, Siouxsie & The Banshees cover version of "The looking glass" where the words "… the picture was distorted" are heard and second from the Public Image Limited self titled track, thus "Distorted Image".
