"One More Day" was written by drummer Bill Stevenson about his relationship with his father. He had a very strained relationship with his father but attempted to remedy it by caring for him in his last year of life, becoming his caretaker while he was ill. The relationship remained strained, and the sentiment of "one more day" comes from Stevenson wishing he had one more day with his father, as he placed him in a retirement home where he died just a few days later. Stevenson has said writing and putting out the song felt like finally freeing himself from the grief and guilt he felt after his father died, as he had neglected to tell anyone how much his father's death effected him. The line "I love my daddy boy, did you love your boy?" is a reference to what Stevenson and his father would say to each other before his parents divorced, his dad would say "I love my Billy boy" and Stevenson would reply with "I love my daddy boy". Stevenson has spoken at length on this song in the 4th episode of Chris Demakes' podcast.
