Len Coley, Rick Bailey on lead vocals, and Roddy Harris established the band Delegation in 1976. Ken Gold, the music producer/songwriter who also wrote and produced The Real Thing's successes "You to Me Are Everything" and "Can't Get By Without You," quickly discovered the trio. Ken and his composition partner Micky Denne wrote songs for Aretha Franklin, Jackie Wilson, and Cliff Richard, among others.
