This is the second offering from the the DTM lineup featuring George Hagegeorge on guitar. The Colorforms theme that runs throughout the album begins with the first track "Primary Forms" which arises from a slightly chaotic intro to solidify around a smooth ethereal piece that becomes the primary theme of the album. The other "… Forms" tracks all coming from a this single long evolutionary jam featuring some excellent key work by Hitz. Broken into more bite size segments, they are interwoven throughout this album and venture into surprisingly different acoustic hues.
"Lonestar" has a bit of a country twang featuring nice interplay between Hagegeorge's slide guitar work and Conway's soulful trumpet. Copper builds a nice extended spatial intro through a blooming of gongs and cymbals and talking drum before falling into a steady djembe groove.
"Tertiary Forms" gives way to the vibe centric lunar exploration piece "Loud Moon" featuring Cooper's signature vibraphone and marimba work. Hornsby's bass meanders around the edges of the lunar surface while Conway provides the astral winds through his alto flute. Hagegeorge creates the magnetic and gravitational fields with his spatial droning guitar. Hitz's piano glitters as the reflection of the suns rays. It's a slow build as the moon traverses the horizon.
"Pentamerism" Serves up a bluesy interlude, once again featuring vibe / marimba work by Cooper.
The final track "Invisiforms" is the final culmination of the variations on the Colorforms theme. Mixing a bit of the blues into the palette.
