Deathsex Bloodbath were a controversial sleaze rock band from Coventry known for their outrageous stage show, confrontational lyrics and driving riffs. Their music has been described as glam, shock rock and industrial rock. Their most recent release in this dimension is 'Swipe Right With Deathsex Bloodbath' (2018).
Their current line-up is Sadogasm (vocals, guitar), Masokiss (bass), Switchblade (vocals), Sororicide (drums) and Justin Appropriate (guitar). They have released six full-length albums, with their most recent being 'The Principle of Evil Made Flash'. In 2014, they released a Greatest Hits EP, 'Golden Showers: The Very Best of Deathsex Bloodbath'.
Deathsex Bloodbath were originally founded by Sadogasm and Masokiss in 1998 and it was this duo, with the addition of Belgian drummer Nicolas Harlot, who released their first album, The Inevitable Penis in 1999. The album, savaged by critics, was an unlikely success, particularly with teenagers, and their success was compounded with the addition of guitarist Caitred Alabaster. In 1999 they released their second album Gangbangin' with Deathsex Bloodbath before receiving widespread critical and commercial acclaim for third album The Infernal Desire Machines of Deathsex Bloodbath, which contained their best-known songs, 'Thrilling Spree (Spree 2)' and 'Real Dolls Destroy Humanity'.
Caitred had left the band by the time of the band's next album 'Deathsex Bloodbath and Masokiss had followed suit in 2003, leaving just Sadogasm and Harlot in the band. They did two further albums, Doomsday Perverted and The Principle of Evil Made Flash, the latter of which was claimed (by Sadogasm) to have been very successful in Eastern Europe.
Masokiss and Caitred rejoined the band in 2011, to the delight of most DSB fans, while new faces Sororicide and Justin Appropriate joined in 2011 and 2014 respectively. Caitred subsequently left in 2011, 2012, 2012, 2012, 2013, 2013 and 2014 before leaving for good in 2014, eventually replaced by Switchblade.
Deathsex Bloodbath released new recordings of their most popular songs in 2014 on a Corporate Records compilation called 'Golden Showers: The Very Best of Deathsex Bloodbath'. Originally rumoured to be a 72-disc set, the eventual release was a five-track EP, blamed by Corporate Records on budget cuts (from £1m down to £0.00). They followed this with a Christmas single, One Christmas Night, released through Corporate Records. 2016's Are You There God? It's Deathsex Bloodbath came out on Ex-Gratia Records in 2016 before the band's final insult, 'Swipe Right with Deathsex Bloodbath'.
The band found out in 2019 that they had been lost in the wrong dimension for several years, and returned to their own universe, leaving the band inactive. Affiliated acts suspected to have conspired with Deathsex in this timeline include Duck Thieves, Year Without A Summer and We Are A Communist.
