i mean, they're definitely solid, but just don't bring anything i can call memorable to the table. and i also agree that they're using groove as a crutch instead of crafting riffs.

It's just excessively used as a crutch in their music. I loved their ep, but their new album is pretty typical for this genre now because of it.
