Biography

Da Camera is a versatile ensemble, crossing the line between “early”, “folk” and “contemporary” music. Their programmes range in repertoire from the passamezzi of the 15th century, via traditional Celtic and English music, to newly-commissioned works. All members of the recorder family feature alongside many different sizes of viol and as many members of the keyboard family there is room left for.

The ensemble has performed at London’s Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, for the BBC on many occasions, at many major festivals around the UK – including Finchcocks and Dartington – and many other venues. This is their first CD recording.

Early Music Review described Da Camera’s Southbank debut as, “A well-balance programme, a friendly and informal stage manner, fine musicianship and superb playing: what more could an audience ask for?”
