Curt Siffert wrote this song after a buddy of his had an experience with his daughter. At about the time she turned five, she asked her father if he would tell her a story goodnight. He was the type of guy that grew up watching science fiction movies and reading comic books, so he didn't really know what to do. So, he told her the story of Anakin Skywalker. That experience eventually became She Believes, a song that becomes more about how being a father in the best way we know how.
