Csaba Palotaï is a talented musician and composer born in Budapest, Hungary. Born in 1972, began playing the accordion at the age of 7, teaching himself the instrument. Later on, he taught himself to play the guitar, which he began playing in 1985. In 1986, he formed his first group and recorded his first compositions.
Palotaï's passion for music led him to enroll in a music school in Budapest in 1987, where he took lessons under the tutelage of Sándor Horányi. In 1992, he was accepted into the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Budapest, where he studied jazz under guitarist Gyula Babos.
Palotaï's talent and hard work earned him a spot at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in France in 1996. There, he worked with renowned musicians such as Francois Jeanneau, Daniel Humair, Riccardo del Fra, and J-F Jenny-Clark. He also participated in workshops with the likes of Ornette Coleman, Dave Liebman, Ritchie Beirach, Adam Nussbaum, and Kenny Wheeler.
Between 1999 and 2003, Palotaï played with various ensembles in Paris, including Christophe Monniot, Orchestre Europe-Afrique, and Orchestre National de Jazz. He also toured France with a theatre group called "Phenix," accompanying singers. During this time, he composed songs, scored two short films, and wrote music for a theatrical play.
Palotaï's work as a guitarist and composer caught the attention of many, and he began working with several artists as a musical director and composer. He worked with singer Laurent Madiot as a guitar player and musical director and with singer Bonzom as a guitar player and composer.
In 2000, Palotaï graduated with a Diploma of Music from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. He then founded Grupa Palotai, a music ensemble that regularly tours France and Hungary. In 2003, he released his first album, "Minimyths," with Grupa Palotai on the label BMC. The album, composed by Palotai for trio, quartet, and quintet, was well-received and further cemented his place as a talented musician and composer.
Palotaï's dedication to his craft has earned him a reputation as a master musician and composer. He continues to create beautiful music and inspire others with his talent.
