Complexant is an Australian blackened death metal / deathcore band from the Wollongong / Shellharbour / South Coast area of New South Wales. Formed in 2017, they were active for a short time (2017–2018), then returned in 2021 with a renewed lineup and stronger direction. They’ve been steadily building a following since then through national touring and a string of singles plus their debut EP.
They deliver a heavy, dark blend of death metal and black metal with clear deathcore edges — crushing riffs, relentless drumming, atmospheric/blackened textures, and aggressive vocals (gutturals mixed with higher-pitched screams). Influences commonly mentioned include Behemoth, Suffocation, Emperor, Nile, and sometimes Devourment or similar extreme acts. Their music is dense, intense, and atmospheric, often with orchestral elements.
