Biography
Maarten Kerkhofs (Code Zero) is a producer born and raised in Belgium. At a young age he allready showed interest in electronic music. At the age of 15 he attended his first underground electronic party where they were playing Breakcore and HardTek. Immediately he was interested in these underground music styles. He started to collect some Breakcore records, found an old turntable and mixer and tried to blend some tunes together.
Over the years his taste in music somewhat changed. He left the Breakcore music aside and started collecting Drum and Bass records. Together with 2 of his friends he formed a DJ Collective called 'Triple C Crew”. Over the past years and still today they are rocking DnB parties in Belgium with their wide variety of Dnb tunage. When you are playing out DnB, it is inevitable to roll into the dubstep scene nowadays, so this also happened to Code Zero. After playing other peoples tunes for a number of years Code Zero decided he wanted to make his own sounds. He was at that time totally hooked on Dubstep. So he wanted to take his production in that direction.
After alot of trial and error, finally his tunes were getting noticed. And his first digital release was a fact.
Producing mainly Bass Heavy tunes, Code Zero isn't afraid to branch out and push some more experimental downtempo, garagey sounds. However the Dubstep sound will always be around in his productions.
