Chris Hopkins was born N.J. (the USA) to 18.4.1972 as a son of a German nut/mother and an American father in Princeton, spent however the majority of its youth in Germany. It enjoyed first classical training on the Cembalo, discovered then however at the age of 13 years the jazz as its passion. Hopkins piano style is rooted in the tradition of the Stride and Swing pianist Fats Waller, teddy Wilson, Earl Hines, Duke Ellington, Mel Powell, Nat King Cole and many other jazz pioneers, whose style characteristics he acquired himself on the basis the thorough study of old schallplattenaufnahmen. Meanwhile it developed the influences of its models its own language and in recent years far beyond the borders of Germany and Europe in the jazz scene a name made themselves. For some years it is active apart from its concerts as a pianist increased also as old saxophonist and directors/conductors of the well-known formation "Echoes OF Swing". As einfuehlsamer companions and tone quality-rich Solist ranks Chris Hopkins today already among the internationally asked representatives of a new generation of Swing musicians. Some tours, on which it many renowned sizes - bar-saved Dan to Hazy Osterwald, among them Clark Terry, Harry "Sweets" Edison, Jackie Williams, Tom Baker, Ken Peplowski, Peanuts Hucko, Bob Hagart and thickly Hyman - accompanied, led it through completely Germany, many countries of Europe, into the USA, to Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Its renewed invitation forms the past high point of its career as Solist for 2004 on one the world-wide most important Festivals after 1998, 2002 and 2003, which "internationally March OF jazz" (MOJ) in Clearwater, Florida, in which always about fifty the best American jazz Solisten participate. In the context of the MOJ Chris had so far opportunity among other things on the legends Benny Waters, Milt Hinton, Flip Phillips, Ruby Braff, Joe of savage, Bob Wilber, to meet Jack Lesberg and Ralph Sutton. For 2005 a further large international jazz Festival at the Lake Chautauqua stands in the USA on the program. Beside approximately twenty published CD bringing in, Chris Hopkins submitted solo album on the American label "Arbors record" up-to-date with "Daybreak" to be first and much considered piano.
