History :
Formed at the end of 1999, Cankered Corpse released their anger and power in death metal style. The band is from a historic city Xi'an, which shocks the whole world by Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Dynasty. Now prepare to be shocked by their ultra brutal works.
From the initial band members only Lu Xiao Yang is still present, due to several lineup changes that happened until 2001.
In May 2001, Cankered Corpse recorded and distributed their selfproduced demo CD "Mayhem" (500 pieces) and played for the first live in Xi'ans 8 1/2 Bar. Looking back to this event the band has to give their thanks to the owner as this was their career kickoff.
July 2001, the band went to Chengdu to play in the Little Bar.
October 2001, one song of Cankered Corpse' demo CD is chosen to appear on Mort Productions "Resurrection of the Metal Gods".
November 2001, the band plays on the release festival of "Resurrection of the Metal Gods" in Tianjin.
May 2002, Cankered Corpse played live at the Zhengzhou music festival.
October 2002, Cankered Corpse played together with Ritual Day during the Chongqing beer festival.
Even though they are quite well known in China, Cankered Corpse band members still have jobs of their own to support their life. That is one reason why they very early abandoned the so called 'long hair' style.
Their main influence came from bands such as CHRIST DENIED,DEVOURMENT, LAST DAYS OF HUMANITY, MORTICIAN and ABORTED.
And as Cankered Corpse is not their main profession, new songs are created slowly and the very recent years hadn't been very productive.
However rumours spread for more than one year (2004-2005) that Cankered Corpse is going to release a CD at Mort Productions and in May 2005 rumours became truth: Pleasure of Mania was released with 13 brand new songs and 5 songs of their first demo Mayhem.
