Biography
David De Rossi, aka Cabal, approaches music since very young around the 80s, charmed by the synth pop and electro resonances which were en vogue in that period.
At the age of sixteen he takes up drums and percussions, getting oriented towards metal sounds which will accompany him during his entire childhood. In this meantime he participates with bands like Morgana Kiss and Lord Brummel, accepting partnership with Lacuna Coil as a supporting live concert band.
The dawn of the new millenium witnesses a flashback to the electro origins he has loved since the beginning and gets closer to the new born Italian cyber panorama. He mainly listens to E.B.M.and Hard Trance music.
From then on, he performs under the pseudonym of Cabal, inspired by Clive Barker’s famous novel.
In 2004 he studies at the Percento Music Academy, attending audio, computer music and hard-disk recording courses. There he becomes keen on resonance synthesis, virtual instruments and various modern sequencers.
Since the very moment, he abandons the drums and finds his way to electronic music, which allows more complete music composition, without limiting creativity to the sole rhythmical section.
In 2006, together with Nasty and Plus, he forms up Perverse Stuff: the trio produces a mixture of industrial and hard house music, with intense bpm.
The band gets encouraging live consensus but splits nonetheless for music conceiving difference.
This marks the landmark date of the beginning of a solo career. The Cabal FM project comes to life and it is mingling airy Uplifting Trance and Groovy Progressive House music.
Cabal loves defining his music like emotional, atmospheric, energetic.
Even by a fleeting listening, influences which have accompanied the artist during a lifetime emerge: electro sample from the 80s appear to be inserted into elaborated rhythmical structures echoing his past as a drummer. All surrounded by a dreamy pad and powerful, liberating leads.
In the summer of 2009 his first solo comes to life: it is the ‘Broken Balance’ EP, first part of a trilogy on contemporary society
This is just the starting point of a personal story still all to be written…
What else is to say but…enjoy the ride?!
