Biography
Byrd Gang Records is an American record label founded by Harlem rapper Jim Jones and was created in 2006 after the release of Jim Jones's Hustler's P.O.M.E. (Product of My Environment). The label was originally to be an extent of Diplomat Records as was Juelz Santana's Skull Gang Entertainment, but tensions grew in 2007 between Jones and fellow Harlem rapper Cam'ron.
Stack Bundles (R.I.P.), Max B, Mel Matrix formed Byrd Gang the group and record label along with Jones. The most known Byrd Gang members apart from Jim Jones were Stack Bundles and Max B, who was introduced to Jim Jones by old friend now manager Mike Bruno. In June 2007, Bundles was killed outside his Redfern apartment. Later that year, Baltimore rapper NOE, former Murder Inc producer and rapper Chink Santana, Sandman, and fellow Diplomat member Freekey Zekey. Max B signed a 2 album deal with Asylum Records, of which Jones was an A&R. In 2008 Max B parted ways with ByrdGang & Asylum Records, feuded with his former labelmates, and was incarcerated for 75 years.
