Burn Proper was started in Los Angeles in 2004. Its members are Topher Hall (lead vocal/guitar) , James Mason (bass), Daniel Sahagun (vocal/ lead guitar), and Juan Ponciano (drums). The band's founding members (Topher and James) hail from Leesburg, Virginia, a small town outside of Washington D.C. After struggling with the reality of a small town existence they decided to drive across the country to Los Angeles as a duo. This would give them a fighting chance to make their lives as musicians.
