Jared Blum created Blanketship as the band he'd always hope to be in. Or in this case compose for. Sounds like the best 60’s-70’s pop, warped free jazz, easy listening, taped conversations, instructional records, microtonal synthesis, music of the non - western world, fluttered turntable playbacks, disturbing and sometimes beautiful melodies, quiet passages, soundtracks, broken tape squeals and straight ahead rock compressed into little 4 minute mp3s.
Artistic Approach: Making music out of nothing and turning it into something. Putting things with other things when they shouldn’t be and listening to the outcome.
Results: Cozy, uncomfortable, unstable, stable, even, short, deep, slick, erie, A.D.D, groovy, and distinctly Blanketship.
