Biography
Hail from Dhaka, Bangladesh, the demon that formed in flesh continues to grow in Adelaide, South Australia. BlackPriest, the brain child of Torsha Khan [the founder member and former Vocal of Stentorian. In 2008, Torsha created this beast with the help of guitarist Rudrannel (Vetust, God Forsaken), drummer Tonoy (MirrorBlaze) and bassist Shams. After performing in only two gigs (with guest vocal Tridib from Mechanix and Mashfiat Noor from Opus) BlackPriest stopped their activities. Torsha brought this Demon to Adelaide with him, waited patiently for a guitarist who could quench his thirst. He found Taiseer Rahman Ovi . These two worked together before BlackPriest in few other projects/bands, but didn’t exist for long. In May, 2011 Torsha brought the news of two upcoming mixed albums (named ‘Rock 606 & Rock 707’ coordinated by Mr. Iqbal Aisf Jewel and ‘Hatiar’- a 55 bands compilation album coordinated by Mr. Isha Khan Duray), that was the Jump Start for BlackPriest.
They've written three songs so far, which are ‘Punorutthan’ , ‘Okritoggo’ and Shesh Shurjasto . They asked Mr. Simon O’ Grady (Beyond Mortal Dreams and Abyzmal) to take the role of drummer. Ross A Duncan entered with the bass.
WIth Simon and Ross, they hit the studio for recording in ‘Against the Grain'.
