Bentley Jones – take his name as a literal adjective and you immediately get a good idea of what he’s about. A feisty, rebellious attitude adds grit to his slick, sophisticated and tightly produced electronic-rock fusion pop music. From the pounding guitar-driven anthem ‘Mad Love / Crazy Love’ to the enigmatic and chillingly honest ‘Birdcage’ – this absolute contrast in styles and influences ensures that BJ ticks every box required to create a refreshing and engaging album.

He has spared no prisoners on his journey to future musical success. He has worked with various producers whose talents have previously been shared with Beyoncé, Britney Spears and Whitney Houston. He’s also collaborated with fellow artist Liz Williams for the hands-in-the-air stormer ‘ Paradise ’ as well as the pair’s haunting rendition of ‘Stay’.

In 2006 his track “Dreams of an Absolution” (co-written with Japanese composer Mariko Nanba) was featured as one of the main themes on the soundtrack of SEGA’s biggest selling video-game franchise “Sonic the Hedgehog”. By 2007 two versions of the track were released – the second containing an all-new arrangement produced by BJ himself. Both featured on the soundtrack album alongside some of the world’s hottest artists including US R’n’B star Akon, punk rock band Zebrahead and the 30 million album selling Japanese band Dreams Come True.

His multi-cultural musical experience has fast become a key ingredient to BJ’s unique blend of genres – mixing the fun, melodic and insanely catchy hooks of the East with the grinding beats and heavier grooves of the West – concluding in a delicious cocktail of rich, indulgent and inescapably addictive electro-rock pop. Not content with dominating his home territory, Bentley has set his sights on the world. In anticipation of this inevitability, he has made efforts to localise his talents and competently redelivers his songs in various tongues including French and Japanese as well as brand new tracks such as “Depend on You” – which features entirely Japanese lyrics.

Bold as brass, sharp-tongued and with emotive lyrics, captivating melodies and the restrained delivery of a monster truck; Bentley Jones’ pending supremacy is undeniable and we should brace for his impact on the charts of 2008.
