A band that started as Glenn Fletcher, soon though it was clearly about others and so BabyMash was a random name and so it was the band name.
Proudest achievements: Connecting local musicians together and creating what I’d hoped to be a social group. I’ve wanted to create both a band that are good enough to be heard yet encompassed locals some of whom are NOT musicians.
This is not the easiest thing to do because I have a certain standard but it’s a very skewed standard, for example sometimes I’ll keep a 10 minute track with incredible moments and pay for it by keeping in it mistakes, I enjoy mistakes and every time you leave them in so long as they are within my standard’s of musicianship or song power etc.
After the band had MASSIVE and COMPRESSED MEGA-NATIONAL success I couldn’t no matter how nice I was , no matter how much I was willing to put back into Creative Sounds was enormous.
My ONLY goal was to use MY success in the national media Help Creative Sounds National Situation especially as they had the new gears there and I for one was deeply excited about it.
They weren’t excited about it, in fact it was immediately clear that Mr. Black had NIL - I mean totally NIL!! - interest in this concept, yet again we are locally paying the price artistically due to 1 single and by now decades old negative behaviors and dark energies producing a Dead Musical Non-Scene, by choice.
I’ve had enough of the politics of it, when you LOVE music PURELY for it’s beauty you don’t have nor need this crap in the first place, only the threatened ca behave this way.
Enough!!!, they out of the pic, so today the band is awaiting a chance to record a new CD and one that is EXTREMELY SPECIAL as it will be virtually bar maybe 20% be all BRAND NEW AGAIN and back to the first 2 releases style of just good solid tracks and musical enjoyment without over-doing the prog-sides.
Thanks to a friend's musical impressions on me as a person and the bands he’s introduced me to I’ll be sure this new album will be gorgeous. Recently on looking at my CD’s I realized to my astonishment that I’d linked up to 28/30 people, proving I can do it when I want to. But hey, life’s Success comes from within us all, you don’t look outside for IT, you look inside for IT and the outside flow just follows but it’s tough and many of us artistics tend to have been through some heavy stuff in life which has always been linked to certain levels of artistic ability. It’s due in my case to a Horrific Birth and then a terrible follow up, etc., which I will not go into and art relieves this.
It’s as if I EXPLODE my entire lifes torments into SOUND, it proves that we all have INBUILT KNOWLEDGE awaiting to be tapped. It’s already in us.
So BabyMash is now due to pulling in so many a band on it’s own and in it’s own right.
Although it’s very much using the King Crimson approach of Keep one player on one instrument and keep the chairs changing all around the focal point, this creates a definite SOUND that Babymash can say it has yet also due to the sheer versatility of styles etc and differing people the band is always in an evolutionary state.

If you , no matter if you do POETRY, or anything, even a good story line I’d consider as it might be fun to do a classic CONCEPT ALBUM with voice included?
I’d personally like BabyMash to make almost every style of music there is at some point.
