The Stage’s fourth song.
The song is referencing the downward spiral of American politics. Our leaders continue to take us deeper in debt, to fight unnecessary and oppressive wars, to create a surveillance state, and to get wealthy by becoming increasingly corrupt.
While all this is happening, the American people ignorantly cheer for their choice of presidential nominee (no matter how unqualified) and ignore the greater problems that either will perpetuate once elected. We are unable to focus on the bigger picture (the forest through the trees).
Unless voters educate themselves, we will continue down this dark path… we may already be damned.
