Biography
Autumnatik is the moniker and creative outlet for Milwaukee based photographer/artist/musician Justin J Bacon. When he's not out photographing everyone and their mum, he's probably sitting in his flat hooked up to a computer and acting like a noisy cyborg ninja, plucking strings and pushing buttons. To Justin J Bacon, sound waves are just another palette of color to express himself with.
Born out of boredom in his parents suburban basement in 2002. Autumnatik was an escape from the monotony of suburban living. A place to record thoughts, ideas, and emotions that couldn't fit into his otherwise perfectly shaped box. Justin trained as a percussionist from a very young age. Unable to afford a real drum set he gave it up, trading in his sticks for a cheap guitar. In 2000 he was introduced to electronic computer based synthesis and recording. Now with access to every drum kit he could imagine, and a myriad of other worldy instruments, the door was finally open.
Bacon draws heavily from the abundant pools of creativity found in the works of audio masters such as Richard D. James , Tom Jenkinson , Amon Tobin and Scottish brothers Michael & Marcus Eowin Sandison . Albums such as "Selected Ambient Works 85-92", "Feed Me Weird Things", and "Music Has the Right to Children" were the catalyst to all of his creative endeavors.
