Biography

Armorial was the name of at least 2 bands:

1. Armorial were an experimental metalcore band hailing from Western Sydney, Australia. They drew their influences from acts such as Dillinger Escape Plan, Oceano, Emmure & Born Of Osiris. Their music was a unique blend of progressive metal, hardcore punk with a tasty slice of electronica.

Their first official release was 'The Autumn EP' in 2010, released for free via their social media pages. Recording and production was handled by the bands guitarist, Joel, with music and lyrics being written by all members at the time; Joel DeVos, Rhys James & Mark Daniel. Dylan Marks joined on the drums shortly after this release and they worked on some pre production tracks for their first album. Once again, recording and production was handled entirely by the band, reinforcing their strong DIY ethic. Their sophomore release was eponymously named and released two years later in 2012, including new material and two re-worked tracks.

Armorial spent quite some time performing live and building a name for themselves and decided to take a new direction, incorporating some more melodic elements. Their third release, tentatively titled 'We Are The Resistance' was never officially released. The title track was featured in Blunt Magazine and featured Alan Booth of In Measures.

Dissonant harmonies, intricate riffs and catchy dubstep segments make Armorial a band worth listening to. Their musical catalogue is available for free or donation via their Bandcamp site.
