In 2012 Finnish singer-songwriter Antero Lindgren rapidly gained success with his debut album Mother in the Finnish music media. The album was carefully written for almost a decade and it mixed Lindgren’s dark baritone and strong lyrics with swirling synthesizers forming almost a Twin Peaks –like world. Lindgren was eventually chosen by the Finnish music media as the most promising artist in Finland in 2012.

His second album Talking with the Dead (2013) is similar in texture as the first album but with a more direct outlook and better balanced arrangements. Talking with the Dead tells stories of yearning and hardships but also of love and growing up. It’s sound has a touch of the 80’s, the childhood decade of Lindgren, but has been tailor-made for long drives in the country side watching the emptying cities and the never-ending fields as you pass by.

With the albums Mother and Talking with the Dead while armed with a reputation as a memorable live act, Lindgren is ready to claim the title as the most promising artist in Finland, willing to take a step further and become an artist noticed outside of the Finnish borders.
