Animé is a rock band from Brno (Czech republic), formed in 1999.
They started as a four-piece, with two guitars. After the departure of one of the guitarist and change of the drummer the current line-up is:
Jiří Kučerovský (guitar, vocals)
Tomas Otevrel (bass)
Their first demo Direct Sunlight was recorded in summer 2000, followed by a live CD Alivealive.
In 2003 they released their first full-length album, Sky Above the Wires, through Redblack Records, and consequently were nominated for the Czech Music Academy award "Anděl 2003" as the best hard and heavy act.
Their second album, Cuts, was released in December 2005. It might be more melancholic than the first one, but at large deals with a similar set of emotions as their previous output.
The release of their self-titled third album in January 2009 was followed by the departure of yet another drummer, Zbyněk Raušer.
Their third album, Animé, was released in January 2009. Some song from this album are part of soundtrack of a czech movie "Probudím se včera".
Their last album, Dead Trams, was released in February 2015 and the band is actually on the tour.
