Biography
Max Rieger alias All diese Gewalt (German for All this violence) is repugnant to boredom. In addition to his solo project, he is the singer and guitarist for the Stuttgart band Die Nerven and is also active as a producer, for example on Friends Of Gas album Fatal Schwach and Karies. When Rieger was supposed to learn the piano at the age of six, he was stubborn. His parents reciprocate when he wants to play guitar when he is fourteen. Max then just teaches himself, and at fifteen, realizes that you can use a computer and a cheap headset as a recording studio.
Over the years he developed the project All diese Gewalt from these first experiments, which, however, should sound more like a fictional band than a solo project. In January 2014 the first EP "Ich Berühre Dich nicht" was released, which he recorded together with his colleagues from Die Nerven. In the same year the publications "Kein Punkt wird Mehr Fixiert" and "I'm Not Even Here" follow.
In the meantime, already with Die Nerven on the big stages, the Berlin-based indie label Staatsakt takes notice of Rieger's project and reacts enthusiastically. In 2016 the album "Welt In Klammern" was be released there, which was performed live on a small tour of Germany together with Jannis Petterson from Walls and Birds, Thomas Zehnle from the Wolf Mountains and Dennis Melster from the Blue Angel Lounge. In contrast to Die Nerven, All diese Gewalt strikes a rather calm tone. The tracks are made up of several hundred tracks and thus develop massive, multi-layered sound carpets between drone, wave and noise. In 2020 he released the successor album with "Andere". It thunders, vibrates and roars from the speakers, while guitar tracks and drums that drive forward somehow lash the whole thing down. Recently the focus: Rieger's voice.
