Biography
There are 4 bands with the name Alas.
(1) Alas is a screamo band from Finland, formed in 2020. They released their very first EP called Alas - EP on August 5th, 2020. All songs on EP are written by Oula Maaranen and Ruben Mustonen. (2) The Argentinian band combined elements of progressive rock like Emerson, Lake & Palmer with fusion along the lines of Return to Forever. There are also tinges of Argentinian music, especially Astor Piazzolla. They released three albums, a self-titled debut in 1976 and Pinta tu Aldea, which was recorded in 1977 but not released until 1983 plus a reunion album called Mímame bandoneón in 2003 (under the name Alas con Daniel Binelli).
(3) Alas is a finnish electronic music radio show concentrating mainly on dubstep with occasional ambient shows. Alas is run by rrimöykk, teeth and niclas kristiansson.
(4) Alas is a little known independent rapper, who has published at least two albums: "Expressions" (2001) and "This Style Color" (2002).
(5) Alas is the brainchild of Erik Rutan (Morbid Angel, Hate Eternal), and has released one album, Absolute Purity as of this writing (in addition to a split and a demo). The vocals are provided by Martina Hornbacher-Astner.
