Biography

Francisco Adrián Méndez Ortega was born in Guatemala City on June 17th, 1980.

When he was only 4 years old, his interest for music started, and when he was 16 he started playing guitar, encouraged by the songs that made him leave the real world. However, his true talent was discovered a year later during a musical event at his school. Adrián was supposed to participate as a guitarist, but there was no vocal lead, so, he decided to try that out, beginning his career as a singer.

In 2000, the band Andrómeda appears, and Adrián is one of its founders and the lead vocal for seven years in a row. During all this time he recorded and produced the albums: "El Reinado del Sol" (2006), "Resurgiendo del Abismo" (2006) and the DVD "Andrómeda / Entropía Acústico" (2007). From 2001 until 2004 he recorded the project "Astur Ignis" (containing 6 tracks).

Last 2007, he received an award from the web page www.rockrepublik.net in honor to his trajectory in music.

His musical studies are 3 months in "Academia del Mónaco" with professor Mando del Mónaco (dramatic tenor). Adrián says: "What he has taught me the most, is to get to know myself. I'm not a singer that uses a special technique or something like that". "I admire Michael Kiske's work, who has a melodic voice, but at the same time, it's strong."

Currently, he is now going through a new stage in his life, starting his solo career.
In Adrian's web page it is noticeable how he has taken the time to create and produce his own music, now with the freedom of expressing himself without anyone else limiting his work (in music and lyrics). Because that is an unfinished project (the demo "Fortuna Fugaz"), every new track is added to the downloads list as soon as Adrián finishes recording each song. "I'm not a composer, and even though my compositions are simple, I feel satisfied with the results."
