Biography
Adam Brousseau is a music composer from Quebec who's sound is vast and often unpredictable, revolving around prog rock compositions, guitar effects and cinematic textures. From an early age, Brousseau found himself captivated by video game music. Namely music from the Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise. The fast-paced, energetic nature, combined with the often bombastic guitar leads gave the young man an interest in instrumental rock music. However, Brousseau would only start playing electric guitar at the age of 15, upon his discovery of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.
As his technique improved on the instrument, his curiosity naturally led him to explore new sounds and eventually start composing music by ear. On his 16th birthday, Adam was gifted his first studio recording session with his private guitar teacher, Sébastien Greffard. That event alone, motivated him to learn how to make music on his own. Later on that same year, Adam was gifted a MacBook by his parents and bought himself a PreSonus interface and began recording songs on GarageBand. His first EP, Paradox, is largely composed of songs recorded on Garageband, with the exception of Ink Storms, which was recorded on Cubase by Sébastien Greffard, who also contributed a few basslines and guitar solos.
Adam Brousseau has played in a few festivals, most notably FRIMAT and FGMAT (Festival des Guitares du Monde en Abitibi-Témiscamingue). He has appeared on TVA Nouvelles, Radio-Canada, and multiple newspapers in 2018.
Brousseau's latest single, "Argile", is a teaser of his upcoming album "Le Mal du Pays", which he claims will be a much more cohesive and ambitious album than "Paradox" was.
