They resisted the obvious title for the song, because it would get lost in the already full catalogue of "Falling in Love" love songs. The guitarist, Paul Reynolds, commented that to him it just sounded like a "Space Age Love Song", and there you go. It's generic enough to be a Rorschach test for the mind. Repititious, hypnotic rhythms and timing glide into the vocals and complement the guitar part. The vocals and the guitar trade off leads. Effects of chorus and reverb do for sound what Vincent Van Gogh did for art with "The Starry Night". (They got lucky.) The two hit wonders Flock of Seagulls most undervalued song. Startlingly iconic song of 1982 now a rock classic.
