Biography

나무자전거 (aka: Tree Bicycle) is a two-member folk band from South Korea formed in 2005.
Namu 나무 can mean either, 'tree' or 'wood' in Korean, and the band name can be translated as either Wooden Bicycle, or Tree Bicycle, which is the translation the band seems to prefer. As a three-person group, the band was formerly known as "Scenery From Riding Bicycle".

In 2005, Song Bong-ju, a member of the existing three-member music group "Scenery From Riding Bicycle" left the band and the band was formed with the two remaining members as 나무자전거, or "Tree Bicycle" with the remaining members being Kang In-bong 간인봉, and Kim Hyeong-seop 김형섭. They debuted with their first album, Namu Bicycle, and won the Male Folk Singer Award at the 18th Korean Entertainment Arts Awards in 2011. The subsequent albums dispensed with the "romaja" word, "Namu", in preference to the more correct translation, "Tree Bicycle". The next two albums are called "TREEBICYCLE Vol.2" and "TREEBICYCLE Vol.3".

The band's genre is mainly folk, but also uses elements of other genres in their music,
such as rock, jazz and trot (a popular Korean genre).
