Biography
黄色潜水艇 (huángsè qiánshuǐtǐng - Yellow Submarine) is a Chinese rock band formed in Beijing in 2002 but veterans of the Chinese heavy metal and punk scenes. Guitarist Xiao Yang has been in Black September (黑九月), Yaksa (夜叉), guitarist Kong Hong is from Liquid Oxygen Can (液氧罐头) and AK-47, bassist Cheng Yinsheng and drummer Wang Lei both worked with Liquid Oxygen Can; keyboardist Li Zhiwei hails from the Xinjiang Autonomous Region.
In spite of their metal/punk roots, the band has a gentler, more acoustic sound, full of melodies and more pleasant sounds, touching on the psychedelic music of the 60s. Their album 不要说再见 (Do Not Say Goodbye) was released in 2008.
