The Face, 面孔 (Miànkǒng), is one of the representatives of 2nd generation of mainland Chinese rock bands, starting out in the beginning of the 1990s. They were one of the last signings of the famous label Gun Shi (Rolling Rock Records). Their funky style of rock and metal was quite influential around that time and their debut a milestone for this genre. The band disbanded in the late 90s and reunited around 2006. Bass player Ou Yang (欧洋) has been active till today in bands like Zheng Jun (郑钧) and Overload (超载) and he is also the co-owner of the famous Beijing venue Yugong Yishan. Vocalist Chen Hui (陈辉) has also released two solo albums.
The band is now signed to Pilot Records and a new album is in the works.
