Maimi Yajima (矢島舞美, Yajima Maimi), born February 7, 1992 in Saitama, Japan, is a member and the leader of the J-pop group ℃-ute, a unit made from members of the Hello! Project Kids, and part of Hello! Project. Maimi auditioned for and joined the Hello! Project Kids in 2002. Her debut was with the group ZYX, which only released two singles, both in 2003. Her first recorded solo song, "Natsu Doki Lipstick" ("夏ＤＯＫＩ リップスティック"), was released on ℃-ute's mini album ② Mini ~Ikiru to Iu Chikara~. Her first solo photobook, called "Maimi," was released on April 27, 2007.
