'Sonorous Rose' is one of the best alternative pop albums to come out of the mandopop scene in the 90s. the blend of alternative rock with downtempo and the overall dream pop vibe of the album is so unique, it's really such a shame that album has flown so under the radar. Gaia is fantastic and deserves utmost praise for sure but don't sleep on Sonorous Rose, it's a top five mandopop album for me.

it really would be accurate to say that she’s 611, or 6+1+1=8, seeing how in Cantonese ‘8’ means being talkative and always questioning about gossips and other topics

It's amazing.. just totally different than Gaia was. Except for two pop/rock songs, the rest of the album is very calm and relaxing (in terms of melodies, lyrically she is adressing very interesting topics). Aabum is especially perfect for listening during the night. I needed a few more listenings to get "into" it but now I love it!
