Biography
バビロン (BABYLON) was an indies visual kei band from Tokyo, Japan with a versatile hard rock/punk sound and a characteristic style.
Their line-up consisted of タクマ (Takuma) on vocals, ミサ (Misa) on guitar, chorus and programming, 珀 (Haku) on bass, 良一 (Ryouichi aka "GOOD ONE") on drums and 冴 (Sae) on guitar. The band formed in November, 2003 and suffered of various member changes throughout their career, while always beaing headed by leader Misa and frontman Takuma. However, Misa decided to leave the band on february, 2009 and consequentely the band dissolved in June of the same year.
Takuma and 雍希 (Youki) both ex-ＲｕｓＨ members started BABYLON when Youki called up Misa (ex-Aioria), who became the band leader and producer, and kazuki (ex-Dué le quartz), both have been also played in ＲｕｓＨ as support members. Finally Haku (ex-Ｎｅｒｏ) joined and the band was complete.
After a year of activity, in December of 2004, Youki left because of musical diferences, followed by kazuki a few months later. They were replaced by 刻 (Toki) on guitar and 美景 (Mikage) on drums. Mikage left in July of 2005 because an ear infection and later, in November, Toki also left because of private issues. BABYLON stayed as a 3 member band for a while with support drummers 'til in 2006, guitarist 麻耶 (Maya, ex-悪魔頭) and drummer Ryouichi (ex-otoiro) joined, although after almost 2 years with the band, Maya decided to leave in early 2008. Right after Maya left a new guitarist named 冴 (Sae), a self-claimed BABYLON fan who had been working with the band as a roadie sine the early days, joined.
2008 was a great year for BABYLON, they released 2 maxi-singles and their first all-new songs full-lenght album.
Unfortunately bad news arrived in February 13th of 2009: Misa, leader and main composer of the band, aswell as the executive producer and owner of the TEMPLE label, decided to leave the band due to personal reasons. However the remaining 4 members decided to continue with the band until they announced they would disband after the live on June 28th, on their 5th anniversary oneman.
