Art-folk band "Destiny Lines" is its author's music project - Alexander Nepomnyashchikh (author&performer, guitarist, composer: Russia, Novosibirsk).
Born in the Soviet Union, Alexander passionately loves the artistic legacy of his mother-country just as much as the art culture of the world, especcially folk culture of different countries and peoples.
When he was 15 Alexander heard music by the great band "The Beatles" and made up his mind to learn to play the guitar. First, he ran over the strings of his guitar repeating "Blackbird". Then he got greatly impressed by the lyrical power of the music by Pink Floyd. He plunged
into a cunning rhythmical diversity of Jethro Tull's songs and got for ever captured by such knights of guitar as Bob Dilan, Paul Simon and Mark Knopfler.
Later, when the Soviet Union was disintegrated, the life in Russia began to change rapidly. In Russia of the 90-ties musicians could play everywhere and everything - there was no longer any ban on either punk rock, or metal music but there was another problem. The country got
striken with poverty and unemployment and many musicians had to earn for living anyhow. Alexander was no exception and he left the stage for long 10 years. Those years without music, though, showed the way of storing a great deal of life experience and creative energy.
In September 2005 Alexander creates the art-folk band "Destiny Lines" which embodied his vision of music. The material of the band is eclectic, grown from the fertile musical background which was ploughed and sown by wonderful musicians from the USA, Ireland, England,
Latin America and, of course, Russia. The lyrics of the songs are written in Russian. In the nearest future we will try to make a literary translation of them into English so that our listeners from other countries could feel and see the magical pictures created by our hands and minds, us - the Russian musicians from the art-folk band "Destiny Lines" .
