Biography
Formed in Brighton 2008 /\/\/\[ (or MAC) are a 3 piece instrumental band (drums, guitar, guitar) regularly playing in and around the local scene. Although recordings exist they are primarily a live band, but eschew any form of improvisation, preferring instead to have each bar and note worked out in a mathmatical notation of their own invention. Another feature of their live performances is the use of pre recorded introductions to their songs in the form of robotic exposition setting the scene for the song to follow.
Their music consists of well planned out meldies and overlapping riffs combined with heavy offbeat drumming and unusual time signatures. Their first EP Kiss Her You Fool was recorded at Transmission Studies in Hove, and a follow up EP Send Her Back To Jesus is in production at the moment.
Their influences are varied, from other instrumental bands like That F**king Tank and Ruins, to more mainstream fare such as Shellac, NOFX, Megadeth and The Super Furry Animals.
