Description
25th edition. Paléo has become Switzerland's biggest open-air festival, thanks in no small measure to the work of 3,500 staff and the participation of the region. The Festival's bars have always been run by local sports clubs, who keep a proportion of the takings to fund their associations, whilst the suppliers, hotelkeepers and shop owners of the region provide numerous services. Out of this meeting of local folk and an international audience was born a festival which is above all a celebration of music and conviviality. This birthday edition was enjoyed by 225'000 people. Oasis cut short their concert twenty minutes into their set. The french band Noir Desir agreed to replace The Cranberries, which pulled out the Festival. Emotion undoubtedly reached a peak for the unforgettable concert by Buena Vista Social Club. During 6 days (and two special evenings organised before the Festival) the stages and alley ways played host to over 140 performances.
