Description

As part of the announcement for Adelaide Festival today, it has been confirmed that Unsound Adelaide will return for a second edition presented within the framework of the prestigious Australian arts festival.

The line up includes a mix of pioneering and new experimental/electronic artists who have never before appeared in Australia, many performing exclusive shows.

On Thursday 6th March, a double bill at The Adelaide Town Hall includes a performance by ambient/drone legends Stars of The Lid with string players from Zephyr Quartet and friends. Australian Jed Kurzel will also present the world premiere a version of his award-winning soundtrack to the film "Snowtown", performed live to a backdrop of unreleased footage.

The Queen's Theatre - Australia's oldest mainland theatre - will once again function as a specially adapted Unsound Adelaide venue, on 7th and 8th of March. Performing are: Moritz von Oswald Trio with drummer Tony Allen, Nurse With Wound, Morton Subotnick performing Silver Apples of The Moon on Buchla Modular Synth, Haxan Cloak, Cut Hands, Emptyset, James Ferraro and Gardland.

Established in 1960, Adelaide Festival is Australia's oldest arts festival and one of the world's great arts events. The first edition of Unsound Adelaide was presented as a festival with a festival in 2013. It was sold-out and received wide critical acclaim.

More information on the 2014 festival can be found on the Adelaide Festival website. Tickets can also be purchased here.
