CHRISTINA AGUILERA's 'Back to Basics' 2007 North American Tour will hit Air Canada Centre for the second time on April 23, 2007. Special guests the Pussycat Dolls will open for Christina Aguilera.
Aguilera has assembled an acclaimed production team for her upcoming concert tour featuring choreographer and director, Jamie King (Madonna, Janet Jackson, Prince) and Roberto Cavalli, who will be the tour's exclusive costume designer. Working together, the team will create a modern inventive vision fused with elements of retro glamour. The "Back to Basics" North American 2007 tour is promoted by AEG LIVE.
The "Back to Basics" 2007 North American Tour will feature a unique stage design that will allow Christina's fans unprecedented access to the stage with unbelievable sight lines. The tour will feature three distinct stage scenes, illuminated by more than 600 moving lights, and a state-of-the-art hydraulic system. In addition, a very special video montage will be featured from fan testimonials that have been submitted to Christina's fan club BabyJaneFanClub.com.
Aguilera has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, scored four #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and has won three Grammy Awards and a Latin Grammy Award. Her third critically acclaimed album, Back to Basics, debuted at #1 on four of Billboard's music charts in the United States and also hit #1 in 15 countries including countries the U.K., Canada, Japan, Germany, Australia, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore and Thailand. The double-disc set, produced primarily by DJ Premier and Linda Perry utilizes an orchestra, choir, string quartet and jazz horns, to blend a vintage raw sound with modern hip hop and soul flair.
Christina Aguilera passionately supports domestic violence related causes including the Women's Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh for battered women and children. In addition, she is a major contributor to the fight against AIDS.
